Dave Gerdes

has been an advocate for creative, balanced life/work styles all his life. He felt the heat of corporate America in several management stints, then headed off toward alternative work routes: founded and ran a community-based business(now legendary) that featured local artists and characters in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district ... nurtured people with extraordinary culinary arts (founded an Asian-influenced catering business, cooked at the renowned Greens Restaurant) ... worked on empathic body coaching techniques while embracing fatherhood through his son's youngest years.

Through those varied experiences and a natural inclination to devour ideas on human potential, Gerdes founded another business, this one aimed at helping companies cope with diversity. With his partners, Dave designed and internationally marketed a best-selling interactive game, teaching companies how to gently diffuse misunderstandings that arise from diversity issues. As his understanding of gender issues deepened, Dave realized that profound healing can result from uncovering and resolving crippling conflicts in the forbidden zones of male and female energy. Dave then headed full tilt into bodymind integration, certain that current modes of thinking and working often make us sick and soul-weary. He is thoroughly convinced that it doesn't have to be this way ... that with intention, gentle prodding and realizations, many people can transform their lives to a more balanced and joyful whole.

Dave Gerdes is a personal and organizational coach, certified massage therapist, Renaissance man, and intense and laughing Trickster ... one who may help others see new truths and possibilities. He lives and works in a Marin County forest where he also co-hosts a weekly salon with lively conversation.
